What is clinical auditing and how does this
work in social care? Auditing is the process of identifying the healthcare provision delivered (such as call times, lateness, medication, nutrition and hydration) and benchmarking this against agreed standards by policies and procedures or national guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Identification of concerns and acting upon them are a crucial part of effective and responsive leadership, promoting safety and care which is a national requirement for care perfection.
